High School Equivalency Diploma / ESL

NCC’s Adult Literacy Department
The Adult Literacy Department at NCC offers free classes in the areas of High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) Preparation (formerly known as the GED®), Spanish High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) Preparation and English as a Second Language (ESL) in many communities in NCC’s district (which includes the counties of Osceola, O’Brien, Sioux, Lyon, and the MMC School District in Cherokee County). Please see below for more information about each program. 

NCC’s FREE HSED Preparation Classes
HSED stands for High School Equivalency Diploma. In the past, Iowans took the GED® test to obtain their HSED; Iowa has now moved to the HiSET® test which was developed by ETS.

NCC’s Free English Language Learners (ELL) Classes and Spanish HSED
NCC’s Free English Language Learners (ELL) and Spanish HSED Classes Free classes help teach local English Language Learners to speak, hear, read and write English as it is relevant to their lives. Topics include health, shopping, employment, daily living, food, and more! Classes are free. Students need to purchase their own workbook. All levels of English Language Learners are welcome. NCC also offers free Spanish HSED classes. Please see the following link for more details: Click Here 

Clase para Estudiantes Aprendices del Idioma Ingles conocido como (ELL) y preparación del Diploma Equivalente a la Preparatoria en Español:

¿Usted o alguien a quien usted conoce está interesado en mejorar sus habilidades de hablar, escribir o leer en Ingles? O ¿Le gustaría obtener su Diploma Equivalente a la Preparatoria en Español conocido anteriormente como (GED) NCC ofrece clases GRATIS para Estudiantes Aprendices del Idioma Ingles y preparación del Diploma Equivalente a la Preparatoria en Español, en diferentes niveles, lugares y horarios. Los lugares de clases son elegidos después de la orientación en base al número de estudiantes disponibles en cada localidad. Las sesiones de clases iniciaran a principios de Enero. Los estudiantes deberán llamar y registrarse para una de las orientaciones agendadas.
