High school is a busy and exciting time of life. The many activities and opportunities your student is exploring may keep you busier than you want to be – and a bit confused about all the opportunities our partnership with your high school provides. We want to help! These web pages should help answer your questions – if not, call us. We would love to hear from you.
Northwest Iowa Community College provides a wide range of opportunities to high school students before they graduate.
- Your student may be interested in taking college courses while still in high school as a jointly enrolled student. This means that they will be taking a college course and at the same time receiving high school credit. These courses may be delivered over the ICN, at your high school, on campus at NCC, or over the internet. The Benefits of Joint Enrollment are many, but there are Responsibilities you and your student need to understand.
- The College also provides high school students assistance with Credit Recovery. Through the Learning Center they may take an independent study course that will help them to make up a missed class, or meet a prerequisite.
- NCC also assists at-risk students through the Alternative High School Program and through SPANII, a program for 5th year seniors.
- If you would like to Schedule a Visit, the College would love to have you come! NCC may be the right place for your student to continue their education after they graduate. To learn more check out the information at After Your Student Graduates.
