Religions of the World

Religious beliefs are our most cherished values that give our lives meaning and bring families and communities together. So why does religion play a role in major world conflicts? You will learn about the major religions of the world, Hinduism, Buddhism, and the Monotheistic faiths: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. You will leave with a new appreciation of your global friends and neighbors and know the difference between karma and jihad! Come with your questions. Coffee and cookies will be provided. 3 Sessions.

Instructor: Stephen Gibbons, MA
Gibbons has taught World Religions several times while an instructor at Northwest Iowa Community College. Prior to that he was a local church pastor for 20 years, and generally curious about faith and how people do religion differently.
