Jan E. Snyder, Ph.D. currently serves as Vice President of Institutional Advancement & External Services for Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. Her responsibilities include Marketing, Planning, Development, Legislative Liaison, and Accreditation. Snyder has 10 years’ experience in Student Services, Student Development, and Grant Writing.
Snyder received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, her Master of Science in Adult Learning, Performance & Development from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Her dissertation was titled Revising the Accreditation Process for the Community Colleges of Iowa: A Case Study.
Snyder is a member of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) Peer Review Team. She has reviewed several Systems Portfolios and has served on Quality Visit teams. She also conducts accreditation visits with the Iowa Department of Education.
Snyder has presented at state and national conferences to include: The Council for Resource Development (CRD), The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR), The League for Innovation in the Community College, Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
